Carl Myricks, Jr.

Carl Myricks, Jr. went home to be with the Lord January 30, 2012.  He was born July 6, 1928 in Jacksonville, FL to Carl, Sr. and Azie Myricks. 

Carl retired from the U.S. Army with 22 years of service.  He worked for Johnson steel and Wire, Uniwear Corp., Pinkerton Security, and Summit Mall Security. 

Carl was a member of The House of the Lord Church; and was a member of the Stewards of Wisdom Sunday School. 

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl, Sr. and Azie Myricks; his brother, Charles J. Myricks; and his sister, Christine Roberts, of Cleveland, Ohio.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Cora; daughter, Carolyn D. (Gregory) Christian, of Florida; family member, Nanette (Marco) Zeugo and children of Berlin, Germany; sisters, Gladys Massey, Delores Smith, Estella Lewis, and Carmelia (Harvey) Starks, all of Akron, OH; brother, Wilman (Gladys) Myricks, of Akron, Oh; sister-in-law, Betty Mitchell; brothers-in-law, Ernest Wallace, James (Libby) Wallace, and Dia Wali (Shirley Wallace) all of Akron, OH; dear and special friends, Dr. Ronald P. and Joyce Brown, Eugene and Eddie Gilmore, Richard and  Venosha Craig; and Minister Earline Mosley; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

Funeral service will be held Friday, February 3, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the House of The Lord, 1650 Diagonal Rd., Akron, Ohio 44320, Pastor Dennis K. Butts, Sr. eulogizing. Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.  Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1083 Terrell Dr., Akron, OH 44313.
